LineBacker E1 Compressor (DVCM or DCME)

About the LineBacker:

Microvoice's LineBacker™ is a digital compression transcoder know as a Digital Voice Communications Multiplier (DVCM) or better know as Digital Circuit Multiplication Equipment (DCME). The LineBacker is able to compress 6 E1's (or 7 E1's if using SS7 signaling) that are in PCM trunks of 2,048Mbits on SPANS 1-6, these E1's are encoded to 1 E1 of 2,048Mbits on Egress SPAN 1.

The Linebacker accommodates up to 180 (or 210 if using SS7 signaling) simultaneous voice channels in E1 trunks. This increased capacity is accomplished by the use of a standard 8 Kbps ACELP voice compression algorithm (ITU-T G.729).

Management, control of the system, cost reduction, and with a rapid return on investment.

Egress SPAN Redundancy:

If there is an availability of more then one E1 then this is used on Egress SPAN 2.

If there is a failure on the primary transport link Egress SPAN 1, then the LineBacker will switch from Egress SPAN 1 with heavy traffic on all E1's SPANS 1-6 to Egress SPAN 2 in 5 seconds without having any of the 180 voice communications that are in progress dropped.

Applications:

· Corporate
· Call Centers
· Intercity Networks
· Cellular Carriers
· Long Distance Providers
